Management

"The Key" is a registered charity providing a range of Christian activities in a building comprising well appointed rooms including a hall, lounge, kitchen etc.  The Key is a God given facility inspired through the adjacent Bethesda Baptist Church.  The Key is staffed by a combination of paid and voluntary people.

The AIMS and OBJECTIVES and objectives of the trust are

  • The advancement of Christian Religion and Christian Faith

  • Relief of Poverty, Suffering and Distress in the Community

  • The advancement of Education

  • Other purposes beneficial to the Community

Routine Operation

The day to day running of the Key is undertaken by an appointed management team.  The managers "on the spot" are a husband and wife team Peter and Pat Adams who are in situ most days of the week.  The catering activities of the Coffee Shop and some other events are under the general supervision of Janet and her assistants Janet Hart and Andrea Balmer.

Policy and Direction

The overall management of the Key is provided by the trustees, most of whom are members of the Bethesda Baptist Church.  The charity is registered as the Bethesda Community Charitable Trust (BCCT), registered number 1042816.

The Sign of the Fish was used by early Christians as a means of identifying themselves to each other and was in common use through to the 4th century AD.  In recent times, its use has been restored and is displayed by many Christians to signify that they recognise that Jesus Christ is their Saviour and Lord.
